New London Information Booth

The Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce Information Booth will soon be replaced.  The Chamber plans to break ground in the fall of 2007.  The original information booth was erected in the 1929 by the Lake Sunapee Board of Trade.  It is time to rebuild this wonderful building which has serviced the community for so many years.  The new Information Booth will look very much like the current building only better!

Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce Information Booth

According to the “Report of the Commissioners of Merrimack County for 1949” In 1929 the Lake Sunapee Board of Trade erected the first information booth on New London’s Main Street.

Since that time there have been several Information Booth buildings which have been visited by thousands of residents and area visitors.   This building is the only facility of the Chamber of Commerce and Community Visiting Center.

For several years, the Chamber has been working on replacing the current building with a “community in mind” building that is year round, has heating & plumbing and a public rest room.  After many years, plans, selectman & zoning meetings, a final plan has been approved.  On February 28th, 2003 Norman Leger granted the Chamber permission to “hook up” to his existing septic line on Whipple Court.

Now, we are ready to break ground and build a new building in the fall of 2007 “Building for the Future!
